Family Winemakers of California Tasting Largest Ever Event Concludes

Over 460 wineries exhibited at the annual Family Winemakers tasting in San Francisco
The event has evolved from its beginnings as a celebration of the Family Winemakers organization's first year to become an important outlet for small, family-owned wineries to gain access and exposure to the wine market. "These are mostly small wineries with limited marketing and sales budgets," said Paul Kronenberg, president of Family Winemakers. "This event is a very cost-effective way to put their products and themselves in front of a wide array of wine buyers as well as consumers in Northern California."


"Though, that the event has expanded along the lines the business has expanded. As Family Winemakers and others have been successful in opening up direct sales, this tasting has taken on more importance. It's a way of reaching out to restaurants, retailers and distributors across the country and has become the principal wine selling and brand building event in California," Kronenberg said.
